Sheelah Mclean
Sheelah McLean is a third-generation white settler with Scottish, Swedish, and Norwegian ancestry, who was born and continues to live and work on Treaty 6 Territory, in what is now known as Saskatoon. She has a B. Ed, M Ed and PhD in Education, with research focused on interrogating whiteness in Canadian education systems. Dr. McLean has worked in education for thirty years teaching high school, adult education, and graduate and undergraduate courses in anti-racism education at the University of Saskatchewan. She is also an organizer with the Idle No More network. Dr. McLean has worked as a curriculum developer for San’yas Indigenous Cultural Safety Anti-Racism Training for the last 7 years. San’yas is led by Indigenous Health within the BC Provincial Health Authority, and mandated to end Indigenous specific racism in healthcare, child welfare, education, and other colonial institutions.
